What It Takes To Level Up
Imagine yourself going to a staircase seeing three flights of stairs. You can’t see the top or where the opening is to walk through. All you know is you see the stairs. It is important to understand that in life we experience all type of challenges when we are heading to different levels. To get to another level, you need to be able to focus on where you are going, balance yourself, and take a step.
When you focus on where you are going you can see directly. You can’t go anywhere in life when you are unable to concentrate. It is hard to focus when you have distractions around you. Those distractions can be too much social media, dating the wrong person, being in the wrong relationships, occupying your time with the wrong people, etc. In Proverbs 4:25, it says, “Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you.” In this scripture we see the importance of looking directly forward. The Lord also says your gaze must be straight. This means to look steadily. Think about it, if you walk backwards you can’t see where you are going. Make sure you don’t lose focus.
Balancing yourself is important as well when it comes to leveling up. The term balance is an even distribution of weight allowing someone or something to remain upright and steady. You have to have balance in your time. Learn how to balance your home, work schedule, availability, self-care, business, and all other areas that demand time. Without balance you will feel like you are all over the place. It’s hard to say no to people and it can feel like you are going to fall out. Have you ever wondered what happens if you are not balanced? In Proverbs 20:23 it states, unequal weights are an abomination to the Lord, and false scales are not good. The Lord says it is not good to be unbalanced, also he says it’s not pleasing to him. If you don’t understand balance, it can affect your growth and also moving to the next level.
Lastly, whatever you do don’t be afraid to take a step. Which means to take chances at everything you do. Don’t let fear consume you. Don’t be afraid to try new things. Always have the “I can do” attitude, if you don’t you won’t have courage to move on to the next level. The bible says, “Arise, for it is your task, and we are with you; be strong and do it” (Ezra 10:4).
In life God wants to see us be our best selves with no limitations. Too many people experience stagnation in growth because they are unwilling to stretch themselves. There are different levels that requires stretching. That’s how God look at our processes. That is why he test us (Psalm 11:5). He wants us to pass the tests that he give us in order to move on to the next level. It’s like playing a video game. You finished completing a level then you make it to the next level. Notice everytime you pass a level, the next level gets difficult because it requires new strategies and plans. Always remember to celebrate yourself as you make it through one level to the next because this will make you excited knowing that you will have the victory.
