The Truth about Soul Ties

I remember when I was having sex. Once the deed was finished, the next day or two, I would feel empty inside. It literally felt like someone sucked the life out of me. This feeling would confuse me every time because I did not understand where it was coming from. I always wondered what was wrong with me; one minute I was happy and the next minute I was on the verge of breaking down.

As time went on, I realized that soul ties are nothing to play with. You could be connecting with someone who has low self esteem, manipulative, or even suicidal.

I had a soul tie with a married man I was dating in the past. When he first met me, he saw how happy I was and my words were always positive. Once I started having sex with him, my character had changed drastically. Instead of being happy, I was on an emotional roller coaster and I would be manipulative like he was. It was scary to me because I did not know who I was anymore.

A few months later, his wife messaged me to ask about our relationship. I told her the truth so I could break free from our affair. After crying out to God, repenting, and pouring out myself to him, I was delivered.

The testimony I just gave was enough to help me realize the meaning of soul ties. Every time a person has sex with someone who is not their husband or wife, they become their spiritual husband or spiritual wife. This type of covenant is demonic because it is against God’s will for us.

According to Genesis 2:24, “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall become one flesh.” This means that once a man gets married, he is to leave his mother and father and become one with his wife. In other words, if you are having sex with someone you are not married to, you are out of order.

It was also brought to my attention the consequences of having sex before marriage. Ephesians 5:5 states, “For you may be sure of this that everyone who is

sexually immoral or impure or is covetous (that is, an idolater) has no inheritance of Christ and God.”

Another scripture is I Corinthians 6:18-20. It says, “Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. Or do you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.”

These first scripture tells you that the sexually immoral will not inherit the kingdom of God and the other scripture says when we have sex outside of marriage, we sin against our own bodies. Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and was meant to glorify God. So think about how God feels when you give your body away to someone you are not married to.

In order to be delivered from soul ties, you must develop a relationship with God. You will learn to love what he loves and hate what he hates. Also telling the truth to God and repenting is another way to be delivered. The beautiful thing is that God loves us so much that he gives us grace and mercy. If you are experiencing difficulty of breaking off soul ties, allow God to restore you.
